Located on Dolphin Drive, this third-row home's location is a happy mix of a coastal hideaway and a welcoming neighborhood. Appreciate riding bicycles on the peaceful street during a sunny afternoon or listening to the sound of birds and ocean waves as you sip your morning coffee on the covered porch.

The living room contains plenty of comfortable seating for the whole crew. Plenty of natural light ensures a bright and airy feel. The dining room table seats eight and overlooks the water, so you can watch the pelicans soar across the shoreline during mealtimes. There are four additional seats at the bar in the kitchen, which includes all the cooking basics you need for your stay.

There is one king bed and en-suite bath on the upstairs. Downstairs guests will find three bedrooms, including two king beds, one twin over double bunk bed and a twin with a twin trundle. Each bedroom has a TV so guests can split up to watch their favorite shows or movies.

This rental is close to many local stores and eateries. It is a four-min. walk to the Ocean Crest Fishing Pier and Island Way, a enchanting oceanfront restaurant just beside the pier. Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking yourrental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Shore Thing: Home with Ocean and Marsh Views, Private pool and Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
