Strategies to get the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sweet Carolina Cottage has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
