Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best rental home in Ocean Isle Beach:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. The Salt Tee Cottage - Golf & Beach minutes away! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
