How to book the best Wilmington rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in Wilmington. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2 miles to UNCW, 5 miles to the beach & the best central location in town! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
