Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Best View at Ocean Cove! End Unit Oceanfront Condo with pool & easy beach access has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
