Strategies to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. Book your Wilmington, NC rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Watch an incredible sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from KB Surf Shack!\n has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
