Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To get the best rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Wilmington, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Waterfront Condo\/Pier\/Boat Slip 1 Block From Beach and Boardwalk. 2 BR, 2BA has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
