Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to visit Carolina Beach & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • To book the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Wilmington, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 1 BR Condo with Water Views + 2 Minute Walk to Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
