Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Two Parking Spots l Pool
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
