Getting the best vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Finding the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. A few open dates !! Bring your “whole” family we are PET FRIENDLY!! +Elevator\n has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
