Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the best value:

  • To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beach Break Upper 1 - Breathtaking, Pet Friendly, Oceanfront duplex unit has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
