Tips to get the best rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Holden Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"Beholden his Glory\" in this beautiful 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom island home with a community pool. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
