Are you craving a really next level vacation experience? Feel as though you’ve booked your own personal resort during your next Oak Island stay at Bird House. Appreciate modern elegance with pops of coastal flair and sunny color at this charming East Beach property featuring a private pool.

From the moment you step through the cheerful yellow front door, you’ll appreciate the bright and airy open-concept living area. To the left, a beautiful granite mantel anchors a comfortable seating arrangement. Gather here to stream a favorite movie or savor the ambiance created by the electric fireplace (guests should note that the fireplace is for effect only and does not provide a heating function).

Six cushioned barstools arranged around the center island invite the family to hang out in the heart of the home, the kitchen. Gleaming counters that match the mantel provide plenty of room to prepare meals, although the attached butler’s pantry accepts a more private space and plenty of storage, along with a number of modest appliances. This entirely supplied gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances will have the chef in your group feeling right at home as they season up the catch of the day or whip up a family beloved recipe. Dine bathed in natural light in the close by dining nook, where a sturdy wooden table seats six comfortably.

Just down the hall, you’ll find a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo, followed by the laundry room. All bedrooms in the property feature a wall-mounted Intelligent TV for personal entertainment. The queen bedroom is decorated in calming autumn shades, while the cheerful blue and yellow room features two double beds.

At the very back of the home, the spa-like master suite offers a sense of understated opulence. The extravagant textures of velvet, suede and leather are scattered throughout the space, and accents of deep purple and metallic gold impress without overwhelming. Sink into the broad king bed, curl up on the armchair and ottoman or lounge on the padded window bench – there are no shortage of spots to relax here! If you simply can’t avoid work entirely during your stay, a modest desk is available as well. The ensuite bathroom features his and her basin sinks and an upsized vanity along with a enormous walk-in closet and changing area that also attaches to the laundry room. The step-in tiled shower features two opposing rain shower heads with individual controls.

The master suite also provides direct deck access to the screened-in porch on the back of the home, which guests can also reach from the hall. With curtains to block the sun on too warm days, cozy seating, a ceiling fan and even a carpet, this outdoor living room can really be adored no matter what season you visit. Overlook the lush greenery just beyond the yard, or watch the kids splash in the pool below.

On the ground level, the partially finished garage provides a number of amenities, including a convenient half bath, a modest hangout space with a loveseat and plenty of beach equipment. You’ll also find the fun tiki bar, complete with a second full-sized refrigerator and a roll-up window that accepts access to the pool area for snack and drink pickup. Under the home, a number of comfortable seating nooks provide spots for dining, calming or conversation. The enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water makes rinsing the sand off before hitting the water a breeze! Unwind pool side on the padded loungers or prepare up an entire feast at the outdoor kitchen, located under a shady pergola.

When you’re ready to enjoy Oak Island’s famed beaches, a brief walk takes you to the sand via the 26th Place East beach access in under five mins.. In the evenings, enjoy walking the breathtaking crossover at 29th Place East toward the Oak Island Rec Center for some of the most spectacular sunset vistas on the island and plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities. Rent a kayak or paddleboard and discover the waterways via the public kayak launch point on the other side of the boardwalk. And if you decide to undertake an off-island adventure during your stay, this home’s convenient location makes heading to Southport, Wilmington or even Myrtle Beach simple with painless access to either bridge connecting to the mainland.

Everyone deserves a little luxury in their life! Savor the ultimate beach holiday and book your stay at Bird House today.

Getting the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bird House: Contemporary Coastal Elegance with Swimming Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
