Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Blue Water - 4 Bedroom pet-friendly home on Carolina Beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
