Rental home tips and tricks:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Book your Wilmington, NC rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book your prefect Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly, marshfront condo with pool! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
