Tricks and tips for getting the best rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. DR 2409 – Enjoy the pool, tennis and the beach from this oceanfront condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
