Strategies for getting the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 2nd Row newly renovated 4 bed 3.5 Baths has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
