Our top Ocean Isle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking your prefect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. East End OIB- Newly built, New Pool, New Memories! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
