How to book the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. All NEW! Oceanfront Bliss! 50 Steps ToThe Beach, Great Views. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
