Three FSTV's with streaming capabilities, phone, DVD player, cd player and wireless internet access. Centrally located and close to both island bridges, this bright and cheerful bungalow only four rows back from the water is waiting to welcome you for a calming oceanside holiday. With a split floor plan featuring two bedrooms and a shared hall bath on either side of the open concept living area, this is an ideal beach home for two families to share and appreciate together. The modernized kitchen includes numerous new major kitchen appliances, Quartz countertops and backsplash and newly painted cabinets with plenty of storage for your items. The rest of the home has also been newly refreshed throughout with new floor, washer/dryer, couches and comforters.

The inviting features continue outside, where you’ll find an broad covered back porch with plenty of seating (including lounge chairs and a rocker), a gate to help keep little ones corralled and a view that includes glimpses of the water. There is also an open front deck with additional furnishings. Dine al Fresca at the picnic table underneath the home and then savor the breeze with a drink in hand while lazily swaying on the porch swing. A short walk of fewer than 900 feet takes you from the driveway to the sand where you’ll lay your blanket, and a huge outdoor cooler with wheels is included and stored in an outdoor closet to help get your things to the beach. A roomy enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water as well as a changing area make cleaning up after returning from the beach a breeze.

As an added additional, the breathtaking walkway over the Davis Canal at 29th St is even closer than the beach and provides a phenomenal opportunity to view the island’s wildlife, including foxes, herons, and other shorebirds, deer and more. This walkway also provides simple access to the Oak Island Rec Center.

How to get the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pelican Palace: Beachwalk Home on Oak Island has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
