Tips and Tricks to get the best Ocean Isle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wilmington, NC area. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • First, have your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Five bedroom home in Ocean Isle Beach - Pool and Beach Access has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
