Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Geneva Too: Beautifully Furnished Oceanfront Home with 2 Oceanfront Covered Porc has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
