Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Good Times and Tan Lines -Best of both worlds- Beach and Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
