Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. High Tide, 5 bedroom 5 bathroom with private pool and elevator and short walk to the beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
