If relaxing tableaus are what you seek, look no farther than Au Beau Marais!

This very private, dog friendly Harbour Village charmer, located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, abuts Bald Head Creek, and astounds with spectacular marsh perspectives. As you step under the arbor, through the white picket-fenced yard, you'll perceive gentle ocean breezes as you alight to the covered front porch and into the comfortable entryway of this reverse floor plan. To the left you'll find a sunny corner suite with two Twins and a full bath (with tub) which also opens onto the hall. Beyond, a light-filled bayed Queen bedroom, with a sliding door, grants access to a waterside covered porch and sun deck. This is the ideal spot for dipping toes or communing with the Island's natural inhabitants. At the end of the hall, the Queen Owner's Suite's two walls of glass doors delight with panoramas of sun shining off the water of the Island's excellent marshes. Grab an Adirondack just outside on the semi-covered deck and while away the hours. This suite also homes a huge Master Bath with his and her vanities, a water closet, a shower, and a enormous walk-in. A laundry completes this level.

At the top of the stairs, a roomy kitchen overlooks the sun-drenched vaulted living and dining areas which are surrounded by windows. A infant sizable sits in a bright bay just across from the handsome dining space. Nearby, the generous living area, anchored by a slated fireplace, is very inviting but what steals the show are the halcyon Island prospects everywhere you look. Savor these inside or on this level's bowed, semi-covered porch. It's an elegant place to watch the morning sunrise or relax with an afternoon treat and it even renders glimpses all the way to Sunny Point! So appealingly located and appreciating proximity to the marina, stores, and eateries-as well as providing a four-passenger cart for guest use and including WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends-Au Beau Marais will assure you un Beau Moment (a good time) on your vacation! (The crofter is not part of the rental unit.) An additional $300 nonrefundable pet fee is required for each guest dog.

Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Bald Head Island:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Waterfront Harbor Home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
