4 Live Oak Trail is your home away from it all! We do have a completely supplied home along with 2-4 passenger golf carts. We know how important it is to have the simple amenities on vacation making your trip worry complimentary. As far as our home layout we have an open floor plan with a bedroom (King), full bath, kitchen, dining and living room downstairs. Upstairs is a bunk room (2 twins), a master suite with bath (Queen) a sitting area and a full bath. We are centrally located on the island. We are less than 5 mins. from the ferry and the beach and about 2 mins. from the grocery store and all the maritime stores. We know you will savor our home as much as we do!

About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this cottage is near the beach. Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Oak Island Lighthouse. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

• Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
• Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.

• Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
• Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
• Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words.
