Tricks and tips to get the optimal Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Bald Head Island. Book your Wilmington, NC rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Park Place: On The Commons Park in Cape Fear Station, Walk to East Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
