Tips and Tricks to get the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the best Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. NEW!! Freshly renovated, Family Beach, Canal Front has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
