Strategies to get the best Oak Island rental home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Wilmington, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. DOG FRIENDLY - Second Row ...Ruff Life beach cottage. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
