Wilmington, NC vacation rental booking tips:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the perfect rental home in Oak Island:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. \"Summer Salt\" - OCEANFRONT WITH BREATHTAKING VIEWS! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
