Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Dancing Pelican-New 5-bedroom 3.5 baths, canal house w/elevator, 3min to beach has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
