Our top Wilmington, NC vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated Modern Beach Front Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
