Strategies for getting the perfect Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanview Gem: Easy Access to Beach and Beyond! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
