How to find the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in Ocean Isle Beach:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. THE ABSEALUTELY is the perfect house for family vacation has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
