"Re-Lax" (formally Jake's Watch) is an ocean front duplex located with direct beach access and pretty sunsets! The first floor has the main living area, kitchen, dining, half bath and screen porch. The second floor has a king master suite with private ocean front balcony. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, bath and ocean vistas. There is a 3rd floor sleeping loft with a queen, 2 twins and a second half bath.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in South Beach, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

• Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
• In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
• Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
• Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

• Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
• Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Re-Lax on Bald Head Island has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
• Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
• Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
• Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
• Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

• Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
• At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
• Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
• Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
• Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
• Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
