How to find the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer is high season in Holden Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Relax in \"Pelicans Flight,\" a beautifully updated oceanfront home with a private heatable pool. has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
