Strategies to get the very best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Wilmington, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Start by having your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Renovated, waterfront home on the canal with dock & views - walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
