Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a Ocean Isle Beach rental home:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking your Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sea La Vie has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
