Tricks and tips to get the very best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. SPA14: Happy Place: Oceanview, Balcony, Shared Pools, Private Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
