Our top Wilmington, NC rental home booking tips:

When to go & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To get the best value, shift your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Ocean Isle Beach:

  • First, have your family commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Barefoot Breezes Luxury Beach Home - Recently renovated top to bottom for you! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, contact the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
