For the ultimate in coastal relaxation, check in at Chick-Inn of the Sea! Appreciate super simple beach access around 250 feet away from this third-row home. When you’re ready for a break from the sand, your private pool getaway awaits instead. Savor drinks around the firepit as the kids splash the evening away. You can even let Fido romp around the fenced backyard, as this vacation rental accepts one dog weighing up to 50 lbs per stay.

Enter into a bright and welcoming open-concept living space, complete with the whimsical touches and eye-catching art you’ll find throughout the home. Gather together to appreciate a movie on the wall-mounted TV, which swivels if needed, or bask in the glow of the electric fireplace for peaceful conversation instead. All bedrooms in the home also include a TV for personal entertainment. The modern kitchen supplies all the appliances and cookware you need for preparing fresh local seafood or a favorite recipe from home. A sturdy dining table with bench seating along one side will hold six to eight adults comfortably, and an additional three barstools are available at the close by breakfast bar.

When it’s time to retire for the nighttime, you’ll find two master suites, each with its own private bathroom furnished with a tiled walk in shower. The first master suite overlooks the pool and features a king bed and walk in closet, while the second suite provides a queen bed. An additional guest room with a double bed shares hall access to a full bath with the final sleeping space, the bunkroom. With two twin-over-twin bunk beds and quirky locker storage, kids will appreciate all the fun pops of color.

Outside, listen to the waves as you sip your morning coffee from the covered front deck, complete with a variety of chairs and end tables, or keep a watchful eye on activity in the pool below from the outdoor couch on the back covered deck. On the ground level, your private pool getaway beckons. Lush tropical landscaping helps you feel secluded from the world beyond. Play a fast round of the unique pink flamingo ring toss game, lounge around the pool and soak in the rays or relax around the firepit with S’mores and stories. Savor a meal al fresco at the outdoor table and take advantage of the oh-so-Instagram-able bespoke mural as a backdrop with a quick shot of your culinary adventures!

Bringing your fur-infant along? Please note that dogs are not allowed in the pool and should not be left unattended in the fenced backyard, as all grassy areas there are artificial turf. A pet walking area is located in the front of the home, as well as pet waste elimination bags in a dispenser to make cleaning up after your pooch a breeze.

When you’re ready to head to the beach, you’ll find beach chairs, umbrellas and toys available for your use. You can even rent the optional golf cart supplied by the property, complete with a parking pass, for an additional $400 per week to keep the sand out of your own car. Plus, supplied bicycles make exploring the island painless, and when you’re ready to embark on an off-island adventure or two (whether heading into Southport to walk along the historic downtown and Cape Fear River or into Wilmington for attractions like Battleship North Carolina), you’ll savor the convenience of this location to the Middleton Bridge.

Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Oak Island vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Chick-Inn of the Sea: Enjoy the Private Pool at This Dog-Friendly Third Row Home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
