How to find the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Wilmington. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Downtown 1866 Curtis Foster House has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
