Booking the best Oak Island rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in Oak Island:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Family Time!!! 2nd Street from Beach Home - Newly Renovated & So Cute - Sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
