How to book the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in Bald Head Island:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unbelievable views in this spectacular pet friendly home has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
