About this Property

  • Sleeps 10
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 5 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2238 square feet

This cavernous oceanfront home is located on enchanting and unspoiled Holden Beach in southern North Carolina. On the ocean side of the property there is a private heated 12 ftX25ft pool.
Loggerhead Landing is a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath beachfront home with a roomy, completely equipped kitchen/dining area for family meals. The home accommodates 10 guests and is not rented to events bigger than 10. There is a spectacular living area adjacent to the kitchen-with both the kitchen and the living room featuring expansive ocean vistas. The three upstairs bedrooms savor the same ocean vista and each opens out onto the upper covered porch. The upstairs bedrooms include a sizable master bedroom with a king bed and an adjoining bathroom, and two other bedrooms with queen beds one of which has an adjoining bathroom. In addition to the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor, there is also a huge upstairs living area with a TV and a table for playing cards or doing puzzles. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer on the second floor. Both sizable downstairs bedrooms have adjoining full baths. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, the other bedroom has 2 twin beds. They are both sizable and airy and have a view of the salt marsh across the road.
The home has two enormous covered porches on the ocean side. The porches are sprinkled with comfortable rocking chairs to relax in. The photos show the wide angle view of the beach and oceanscape from the porches. The home faces due south so that the porches provide shade during the heat of the day. There is a huge sun exposed porch on the ocean side of the home that is ideal for sunbathing while basking in the sea breeze with a unobstructed ocean view.
The beach is steps from the home so there is no tiring walk for young kids before they get to appreciate the fine sand and the ocean waves. The beach itself is typically very uncrowded as the home is located on a narrow section of the island, and there is only one home behind it on the second row. The beach itself is wide, with plenty of room even at high tide. There is no close by public beach access.
The 12x25 ft heated pool was added in 2017 and is located on the ocean side of the home. The pool itself is large, with an broad deck that offers shade and sun. The pool will be a hit with the kids during the day, and with the adults as the sun goes down. A new PVC pool deck was added in 2022.
This home was previously rented as Loggerhead Landing by the current owner and a business partner who was newly bought out. The current owner has been renting the home on Vacation Rental By Owner since 2014.
We have named the property Loggerhead Landing in honor of one of the types of sea turtles that nest every year on Holden Beach. Perhaps you will see a nest with freshly laid eggs one morning when you are walking along the miles long strand at Holden Beach. The pier is about one and a half miles east of the home.
The home has plenty of electronics with a flat screen TV in each bedroom as well two others in the upstairs and downstairs living areas. There are two DVDs, cable TV, and WiFi.
There is a charcoal grille at the home. Cleaning and pool heating in season is included in the rental price. Sheets and towels are not supplied. The home is on pilings and is not wheelchair accessible. Although the home is listed as pet complimentary, our family trains service dogs and the home may have dog dander. It would not be appropriate for families that have a member with dog sensitivity. The home rents Saturday-Saturday with check in time 4 PM and check out time of 10 AM.
Several improvements have been made before the 2022 season. These improvements include painting the exterior of the home, new floor throughout the downstairs, a new PVC pool deck, new clothes dryer, new dishwasher, new refrigerator, and a new hot water heater.

How to book the best rental home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Holden Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and picking your Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Loggerhead Landing--Beautiful oceanfront home with large private heated pool has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
