About this Property

  • Sleeps 10
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 6 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2238 square feet

This cavernous oceanfront home is located on splendid and unspoiled Holden Beach in southern North Carolina. On the ocean side of the property there is a private heated 12 ftX25ft pool.
Loggerhead Landing is a 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath beachfront home with a roomy, entirely equipped kitchen/dining area for family meals. The home accommodates 10 guests and is not rented to events bigger than 10. There is a spectacular living area adjacent to the kitchen-with both the kitchen and the living room featuring expansive ocean vistas. The three upstairs bedrooms appreciate the same ocean vista and each opens out onto the upper covered porch. The upstairs bedrooms include a huge master bedroom with a king bed and an adjoining bathroom, and two other bedrooms with queen beds both of which have adjoining bathrooms. In addition to the 3 bedrooms and 3 baths on the second floor, there is also a sizable upstairs living area with a TV. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer on the second floor. Both sizable downstairs bedrooms have adjoining full baths. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, the other bedroom has a bunk bed with the bottom bunk being a queen bed and the top bunk being a twin XL bed. They are both sizable, airy bedrooms and have a view of the salt marsh across the road.
The home has two huge covered porches on the ocean side. The porches are sprinkled with comfortable chairs to relax in. The photos show the view of the beach and oceanscape from the porches. The home faces due south so that the porches provide shade during the heat of the day. There is a enormous sun exposed porch on the ocean side of the home that is ideal for sunbathing while basking in the sea breeze with a unobstructed ocean view.
The beach is steps from the home so there is no tiring walk for young kids before they get to savor the fine sand and the ocean waves. The beach itself is typically very uncrowded as the home is located on a narrow section of the island, and there is only one home behind it on the second row. The beach itself is wide, with plenty of room even at high tide. There is no close by public beach access.
The 12x25 ft heated pool was added in 2017 and is located on the ocean side of the home. The pool itself is large, with an broad deck that offers shade and sun. The pool will be a hit with the kids during the day, and with the adults as the sun goes down. A new PVC pool deck was added in 2022.
This home was previously rented as Loggerhead Landing by the current owner and a business partner who was freshly bought out. The current owner has been renting the home on Vacation Rental By Owner since 2014.
We have named the property Loggerhead Landing in honor of one of the types of sea turtles that nest every year on Holden Beach. Perhaps you will see a nest with freshly laid eggs one morning when you are walking along the miles long strand at Holden Beach. The pier is about one and a half miles east of the home.
The home has plenty of electronics with a flat screen TV in each bedroom as well two others in the upstairs and downstairs living areas. There are two DVDs, cable TV, and WiFi.
There is a charcoal grille at the home. Cleaning and pool heating in season is supplied in the rental price. Sheets and towels are not supplied. The home is on pilings and is not wheelchair accessible. Although the home is listed as pet complimentary, our family trains service dogs and the home may have dog dander. It would not be appropriate for families that have a member with dog sensitivity. The home rents Saturday-Saturday with check in time 4 PM and check out time of 10 AM.
Several improvements have been made before the 2022 season. These improvements include painting the exterior of the home, new floor throughout the downstairs, a new PVC pool deck, new clothes dryer, new dishwasher, new refrigerator, and a new hot water heater.

Booking the best rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Holden Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Loggerhead Landing--Beautiful oceanfront home with large private heated pool has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
