Getting the best rental experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a Oak Island rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Wilmington, NC restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Condo With A Spectacular Ocean View! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
