Finding the best Carolina Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the bestvacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Surf Station 2 @ Texas Ave Beach Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
