Tricks and tips to get the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect rental home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Perfect Downtown Location \/ Unique Historic Charm \/ Modern Updates has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
