Tricks and tips to get the best Holden Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Unwind in \"Sea Salt,\" a gorgeous oceanfront home with a private heated pool. has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.

  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
