Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Waterfront Home on Intracoastal with Private Boat Dock, Screened Porch, WiFi, AC has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
